Helps students practice thesis writing, develop strong outlines, and create full length essays. Starts the first Monday of every month. For grades 6-9.

This workshop teaches students how to write clear, focused academic essays—from prompt to polished final draft. Students will learn to:

–Understand and respond to essay prompts
–Craft clear, specific thesis statements
–Brainstorm and organize ideas
–Write compelling introductions and conclusions
–Develop well-supported body paragraphs
–Use transitions, revise drafts, and manage timed essays

All classes begin the first Monday of each month.

Syllabus Overview

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Identify and create strong thesis statements
Create outlines for standardized essays
Form fully developed supporting paragraphs
Answer standardized prompts with well-crafted responses

Class Features:

Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.

All materials will be provided in the class.
